Do you want to help make a difference in the lives of people living with hearing loss? Hearing Loss Association of Western Colorado welcomes anyone who would like to volunteer in their free time to help people across the community.

Hearing Loss Association of Western Colorado and Hearing Loss Association of America relies on volunteers to extend influence throughout the community by reaching people with hearing loss, friends, families, and co-workers across the United States. Over 40 million people have hearing loss, volunteers help those people find a way to connect with the community.

Here are just a few ways to get involved:

  • Lend your time and skills with the Western Colorado Chapter
    • Assist with various office tasks, such as answering phones, copying, filing etc.
    • Respond to inquiries
    • Conduct research for the Advocacy department
    • Computer systems, network support, software support
  • Participate in the HLAA Walk4Hearing
    • Distribute goodies
    • Help with Walk day signage
    • Assist with registration
    • Assist in organizing setup and/ or cleanup
  • Advocacy
    • Tracking legislation related to issue of importance to people with hearing loss
    • Survey development and analysis of topics of importance to people with hearing loss
    • Research for federal regulatory matters
    • Writing projects
    • Reviewing the Advocacy Section of the HLAA website
  • Chapter Support
    • Database entry
    • Assist with Chapter Manual
    • Updating Chapter Policies
    • Updating Chapter information files
  • Volunteer at the HLAA Convention
    • Be a greeter
    • Assist with registration
    • Guide registrants to their destination
    • Distribute and gather performance surveys
    • Post signs
  • Represent HLAA at events that draw groups of people.
