Hearing Loss Initiatives and Advocacy:
You can continue to be involved and aware of on-going efforts to support people with hearing loss by signing up for or following some
of the information provided below:

Open Captions in Movie theaters
A statewide effort to encourage movie theaters to provide open captions has been underway for the past year. Open captions are displayed on the screen and everyone in the theater can see the captions. You do not need any special equipment to see the captions. If you support open captions at the movies please send your support. All voluntary OC Movie programs in Colorado cease on 12/31/21 as there has been no extension offered at this time. To be added to the list send your name, email, and zip code to HLAABoulderOC@gmail.

Hearing Loops
Let’s Loop Colorado! is dedicated to increasing the hearing accessibility of Colorado residents and visitors alike to hear clearly by advocating for quality installation of hearing loops in a variety of public and private places across the state. A hearing loop bypasses background noises by providing a wireless sound from a public address system directly to a headset, a person’s hearing aids (with telecoils) or cochlear implants. For more information go to https://www.loopcolorado.org/

Captioned Telephones
For more information about captioned telephones, check this link at the national HLAA website:
